Kim Kardashian Wears Her Most Shocking Dress Ever as She Manages to Avoid a Nip Slip

Kim Kardashian West left very little to the imagination — and narrowly avoided a wardrobe malfunction — with the bust-baring black dress she rocked at the Hollywood Beauty Awards on Sunday.
Kardashian West, who accompanied hairstylist Chris Appleton to the event which honored titans of the glam industry, flaunted not just her toned legs and abs, but she also put her cleavage on full display in a vintage 1998 Thierry Mugler gown that featured criss-cross cut-outs at the bodice which some on social media have labeled a “boob belt.”
“You know that mood when you’re really feeling your look,” she teased on Twitter before sharing photos of the eye-catching get-up.
The gown, which the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 38, has had “for a while,” according to Appleton, made its debut in 1998 on the runway for Thierry Mugler.
“OK, so I’m here with Chris. Guess who’s nominated. Don’t we look like we’re going to prom,” Kardashian West joked on her Instagram story. “I think this is a 1998 archive look that I’ve been dying to wear, so this was perfect.”
Appleton also shared the look to his Instagram, captioning the photo, “Prom night.”
The British-born hairstylist won the Lori McCoy-Bell hairstyling award, sharing an image of a trophy to his Instagram story and wrote he was “so grateful.”
The stylist, who has also worked with stars like Katy Perry and Ariana Grande, showed off photos of Kardashian West’s hair for the night: a slick bun featuring rectangle-shaped pieces sticking out on top.
“I like to set trends, not follow them,” he told PEOPLE in 2016. “I’m always excited to push boundaries. I try to keep my work edgy and inspirational but still wearable and beautiful.”
Kardashian West’s big night out came just days after husband Kanye West, 41, surprised her for Valentine’s Day with a special living room serenade courtesy of famed saxophonist Kenny G.
“NO BIG DEAL KENNY G IN MY LIVING ROOM!!!” she wrote on Twitter. “Best husband award goes to mine!!!! Most thoughtful gifts ever!!!!”
