Emmerdale spoilers: Will Vanessa Woodfield die tonight after stabbing horror?

Charity Dingle is facing an agonising wait for news tonight after her girlfriend Vanessa Woodfield was stabbed by Lachlan White’s dodgy dad Donny in Emmerdale. Charity was the action hero we all needed when she tracked Donny down, saved Johnny and walloped the villain with a metal bar for good measure. But when she then returned to hospital with Vanessa’s son in tow, her feelings of victory and relief were devastatingly crushed when she was told that Vanessa could die after suffering internal bleeding. Tonight, Vanessa remains in danger of death and Charity doesn’t know what to do with herself as she waits for updates. The Dingles do their best to support her but Charity only has one thing on her mind.

Not able to face the prospect of losing Vanessa, Charity is on edge – but will she get the news that she is hoping for or will the dramatic week in the Dales end with serious tragedy? Vanity fans are also hoping for a happy outcome – with viewers flocking to Twitter to discuss the huge episodes. Poor Vanessa was even trending on Twitter last night and actress Michelle Hardwick thanked fans for their kind words about the character. Recently speaking about the storyline, the popular star was coy over Vanessa’s fate, suggesting that her contract was close to ending and that, as a jobbing actor, she has to be prepared to be written out at any time
She told Metro.co.uk: ‘I will be gutted but we are all jobbing actors, it’s 25 years that I’ve been in business this year, so it would be onwards and upwards. But you never know. Nothing lasts for ever.’ However, she also dropped a bit of hope into the mix, suggesting that if Vanessa did survive (which is just as possible, if not more given the character’s popularity), then it could strengthen her relationship with Charity. She mused: ‘What’s awful about this situation is the last time they spoke, they were in the midst of a very heated argument and Vanessa had stormed off and Charity let her and so the last thing Charity said to her was this argument. I think there will be a lot of guilt. But I think if she pulls through then I think it would bring them closer, who knows?’ Who knows indeed? We will just have to wait and see…
